I was at the Blue Pepper in Amsterdam a few years ago and the rijstafel there was a feast for all five senses. Quince has a great reputation for attention to detail and fresh ingredients so I have no fear that they will manage to pull this off with ease.
The food quality at the last rijsttafel dinner I went to at Quince was unfortunately nowhere near what I ate in Amsterdam. It was super disappointing on many levels (including the service). I would never go back.
I was a huge fan of the first rijstaffel dinner I went to at Quince. So much so that I dragged 10 friends to the next one, and we were all rather let down. The flavours were just more muted the last time. It wasn't bad, but it didn't live up to my own hype. :(
so is it worth shelling out 55+tax+tip? i've been reading some of their earlier rijstafel reviews and people were raving about it. from what people have been saying here it sounds like quality has taken a dive?
I went to several of their cinq a sept, which featured mainly meaty Indonesian apps. They were quite good, perhaps muted in spicing. I think you'll need to inform the wait staff what your spice level is at..
