junoon vs tamarind (tribeca)

any thoughts on which might be better for an anniversary dinner?

Recent visits to Junoon have been excellent.

thanks . have never been to junoon. was at the tamarind in flatiron 5 yrs or so ago and wasn't overly impressed but have heard great things about the Tribeca outpost in terms of food and ambience

Junoon is better. I find Tamarind quite variable from visit to visit. But both are "high Indian" in a manner that's distinctly American.

I agree with Stangemd, that Tamarind is very inconsistent. Ive had good meals and really bad ones. The tandoori chicken the first time I had it was amazing, the next two times dried out. The atmosphere is very nice. Ive never been to Junoon
