Sweet Bites Cafe in Acton

Did this place close? I drove by yesterday and the windows are papered over on the inside and the building is being rehabbed and painted. The website is still up without any news. I hope it is just a reno, I love the soups and cozy atmosphere here, although it is a little bit expensive.

Since Sweet Bites closed, I've started going to Local Table in West Acton as a place to meet people, have coffee and a bagle or breakfast, or do work in the morning or afternoon - they have wifi, a nice ambiance and is quiet. (and they have beer and wine too).

An update - a new place has opened in that location called Spruce Street Cafe. I didn't know Sweet Bites was gone and only when I walked in the door did I realize the transition. So since I was there already, I ordered a ham and cheese sandwich for $7.50.

It's okay, good ham and decent cheese on toasted white bread (out of wheat), but no mustard or mayo, even though it was supposed to come with mustard. It was nothing special and nothing like the good stuff Sweet Bites had. Too bad all around.

They have closed. They sent out a newsletter to their email list, no reason for the closure but mentioned that they hope to relocate.

Oh, bummer. I haven't eaten there in a while, but enjoyed what I've had. I hope they're just renovating.
