My husband and I have a rare date night Planned for tomorrow (parents in town and babysitting!). We want to try battersby but I'm wondering whether I should try and get a reservation for the tasting menu (might br too late anyway for that? I sent an email so we will see) or just go and eat from the standar menu. Thoughts? Thanks!!

We did the "spontaneous tasting menu" (didn't need to reserve it, it's on the menu) and enjoyed it greatly.

I've eaten there a couple times, once for the spontaneous tasting menu (which is the same as the reservation tasting menu) and a la carte.

The tasting menu is an amazing deal for $65 and they'll do some pretty great drink pairings to go with it if you ask, though that starts to get a little pricey. If you're doing a la carte for dinner, figure about $40-$50 pp for food, so if you have the appetite there's little reason not go for the full tasting.

Even if you don't have a reservation, walk-ins are possible on off nights and you can eat at the bar. They've also got a backyard space now.
