Has anyone done a mail-order from Salumi in Seattle?

I've been thinking of ordering guanciale from Salumi but I'm wondering how much the shipping costs and how long it takes once you place your order? And any other information about the process. Surprisingly I can't find much of any info doing a search.

I know two people that have here in the DC area. Both were burned by the shipper, not the weather or Salumi.

Here we have a retail source or two for some Salumi.I think all can be special ordered.

If you are in a major market,it never hurts to ask the seller about local retailers.

@lcool: So both people you know had negative experiences? Darn. I'm in the Philly area so I know I can find guanciale at a few places, but since I recently visited Seattle and really enjoyed Salumi I figured I would try to get their product. But yeah I could ask them if somebody in Philly sells Salumi products.

One ordered in weather, coast to coast that would have cracked the balls on the proverbial brass monkey.Yet ... still boogered the temperatures for quality upon arrival.

Several years ago, DiBruno Bros. in Philly was carrying Salumi's products. I don't know if they still do. They were at the Rittenhouse Square location, not the store in the Italian Market.

I've never ordered from Salumi Artisan Cured Meats, but I know of them as one of the cofounders of the place is Mario Batali's father, and I am a Mario Batali restaurant fan. A quick scan of the web site does not offer any info on shipping costs and time, but there is an e-mail address. Why don't you just e-mail them and ask them yourself?
