Need luncheon for 75 between Wyncote /NE Phila
Funeral on Saturday and trying to plan the luncheon - would like to stay around $20/head. The burial is at Holy Sepulchre Cemetary in Cheltenham and the family is localized around far NE Phila. The funeral home recommended Marco Polo? I was thinking about checking Moonstruck. Other ideas or comments on these (please oh please!)

Thanks everyone. We went with Moonstruck mostly because it is a place the family has had happy celebrations. As it was a Saturday lunch we were able to be on the first floor (not the lower level or upstairs typically used for groups) which was good. The food was very nice - not over the top but nicely prepared fish and chicken dishes (not overcooked as so often happens) with whole green beans that still had a slight crunch. The vegetarian option was also well received. Salad and ice cream with a biscotti to round the meal out. Service was lovely as well. The only thing I'd mention to others as a potential down side is that because we were on the first floor we were in several small alcoves/rooms and not one large space - but the good side of that is that we could hear one another talk and they didn't rush us out so we could go from room to room and visit. Thanks all!

The planning of a funeral is always a sad time; I am sorry for your loss.
I think Moonstruck may stretch your budget.
My family has unfortunately had a few of these in recent years, but at Resurrection, so Fishers Tudor House is the choice because it has a private room.
Last summer for a Holy Sepulchre burial the luncheon was at Gallo's Seafood. They do not have a private room, but do have a private/raised area. The food was better than Fishers, but nobody is there for the food.

re: Bigley9
If you are looking in the Far Northeast ie Fox Chase area.. just up the road from Moonstruck over the border in Rockledge is Austrian Village. Basic german/austrian food. They do have private rooms, but do not know how big. So its another options. My biggest issue there is parking.... you can see their menu online. http://austrianvillage.com/Home_Page.... .

Marco Polo does a lot of funeral luncheons. Their food is pretty decent. Not what you are used to Bigley9 I am sure. I haven't been to Moonstruck in years, But when I was there in the past, it was passable. Others may have ideas, but I don't know of any better options in that area. I am sorry for your loss.
