Mama Roux's Anew (Higganum, CT--where Me & McGee's was) CAN'T WAIT!
On my way down to Higganum tonight, I was excited to see a sign on Me & McGee's: Mama Roux's Anew--coming soon! Stopped to glance at the sign more closely--something about the kitchen being remodeled. If anyone remembers what a treat it was when Mama Roux's was in Cromwell on Main Street, I'd safely bet happy days are here again--especially at breakfast time.
Please share if you know any other details about when/what...and if Kim is back in the kitchen!

yes, Kim is back in the kitchen, she may even be the owner, in fact. There's another thread I cannot locate right now, someone else confirmed this for me. Will be open late Sept/ early Oct. I could eat her food any time of day! I didn't know that Kim had been cooking at McGee's. Exciting.

re: philbkr
Went yesterday with kattyeyes. I meant to take a picture of the menu and forgot. Seems to me like most of the same menu she had previously, which is very good news for her fans. Standard breakfast fare plus the Cajun specialties. I had 2 slices of the pain perdu and a side of andouille sausage. While the pain perdu was not as I remembered, it was still good, sausage spicy but not overwhelming, I'm not sure if it was house made. Kattyeyes had the biscuit with sausage gravy, which I tried and admit I had breakfast envy, and a sunny side up egg. Coffee was good, service was friendly, Kim was out and chatting in the dining room. When we left the place was almost full, I have a feeling the weekends will have a line out the door.
Didn't see a lunch menu, but the shrimp po'boy sure tempts!
