What are some good restaurants near the Design District

We are going to be in the Design District and was wondering if there are any new "don't miss" restaurants in or near the Design District.

Have not been to Oak but just yesterday was
told by a colleague to "skip it " as they went for
restaurant week and were completely underwhelmed.

I haven't been to Oak yet, but I do know that RW isn't a representative experience for many restaurants ... which is really too bad. Of course that's what we all want it to be ...

There are some great restaurants in the Dallas Design District. I love Oak and The Meddlesome Moth on Oak Lawn. Oak has been touted as one of Dallas's best new restaurants and I couldn't agree more! You will be in for a major treat in either place. And don't forget to stop by the art galleries on Dragon Street just a block away from both places... Enjoy!

I'll second the recommendation for Oak. It's fantastic.

Meddlesome Moth is worth a try, but I was somewhat disappointed. They were also extremely inflexible about the menu. I don't eat veal, but wanted to try the bacon jam or whatever the sweetbreads come with, and was very willing to pay for the privilege, but no. The zucchini chips were burnt (yet still strangely addictive).

I like Kay Agnew's new place, Bridge Bistro. She runs it with her daughter, Margaux. It's very good south Louisiana style cooking.

However, there are a few more other good restaurants down that way that will probably be recommended by others here.
