Live Geoduck Clams Special at Grand Fortune Food Mart, Markham and T&T

Normally selling at a whopping $36 per pound at T&T, I came across this SPECIAL 'limited time and quantity offer' at Grand Fortune Food Mart, Markham ( NE corner of Kennedy & Steeles).
How much??!! Wait for it!!!!! $12.88 per pound!!!!!! Absolutely unbelievable! I was early and was lucky to pick up two relatively big ones! Total cost $49.95! ( compare to the normal T&T price of $140!! )
This evening, I also came across this special at the Yonge/Weldrick T&T. However, quality is way inferior to the Grand Fortune selection.
Photos showing preparation procedure and final sliced product. The loaded-up clam shell accommodated only about 1/3 of the 'creature'!! All mine!! Yummmmm!!
Using the clam shell as reference, the two clam trunks should have enough meat to fill up at least 6 clam shells! GREAT VALUE!!

did you use the gooey part of the body too or just ate the syphon part raw in slices?

Utilized and devour every part except for the ' gut ball'. Was told to use them for soup ( similar to conch meat ) but I passed.

are those darker colour ones ok quality? ive always seen them at less than half the price of the white bigger looking geoducks so i just assumed they weren't fresh geoducks

They were 'live' all right!! Syphon squirting out water like mad! Tasted just as fine as the $36 per pound ones. Personally, I care not about colour and look but more concern about size. Not looking for a wife here!! Ha!! The skin which I removed had a lot of sand and dirt. May be its the colour of their habitat's sand and mud?!
