Looking for an American restaurant but elevated in W. Plano/Carrollton

LewisvilleHounder Sep 7, 2012 07:24 AM

I am looking for the Whiskey Cake type place in W. Plano/Carrollton. Not willing to get dressed up. Just want a solid menu but well prepared food.

I can only think of Whiskey Cake, Houston's and Chamberlain's in Addison, and Nosh. Is there anything else out there???

This is for a friend whose wife hates ethnic food.

Is Hawaiian ethnic? I've not had a bad meal at Roy's.

To me and you no...to them yes! Those short rib steam pork buns sound delicious though....I would have a whole meal of those

      Jaspers? It's pricey of course.

What about Amici? I haven't been since they reopened after the fire but I have heard it is still good just no longer BYOB.

I live in West Plano and go to Dallas for Dinner.
Slim Pickins here for really good restaurants,
          I'm afraid.

Not slim pickins for adventurous eaters such as myself but for picky eaters yes. The only place worse, Lewisville/Flower Mound and Garland.

There's Artin's and Gordon Biersch in the Shops at Legacy. Or One2One on Legacy at 121.

Seasons 52 is also in the Shops at Legacy. If the picky one also wishes to watch calories, this is the place.

LewisvilleHounder, you mention Chamberlain's in Addison. I will be in Frisco in November with a busniess group and have considered Chamberlain's as a venue for a group business dinner one evening. Do you have any thoughts around this? I have not eaten at Chamberlain's.
              Many thanks,

Have you tried Mistro Bistro - http://www.misto-bistro.com/ ? I've taken many a guest there and everyone is always happy with it. Good luck!
