Birthday Dinner on Pops
Being a bit of a foodie, my father generously offered to give me a gift certificate to a restaurant for my 30th birthday present. I'm looking for someplace special that is a bit fun and different, obviously with exceptional food, that I probably wouldn't feel justified paying for myself (especially since i'm recently unemployed.)
My guess is the gift certificate would be some where between $100-$150 so somewhere that my boyfriend and I could go to town, without going too far over that (including wine or drinks). So nothing too over the top. Hidden gems would be very much up our alley. We eat just about everything, so not picky about the type of food. Just something special to make use of this opportunity.
A gift certificate from USHG (Union Square Hospitality Group) can be used at any of the Danny Meyer restaurants, e.g. Union Square Cafe, The Modern, Gramercy Tavern, Blue Smoke.
Though $100 for two including drinks, you really cant "go to town" many places deemed "foodie".
More inexpensive options might include: Parm, Txikito, Rubirosa. Mission Chinese, Pearl Oyster Bar? No idea if they offer GCs
