First time making the No Knead Bread .....

Hey everyone!

I am going to be making No Knead Bread for the first time but want to use dried herbs. Has anyone had success using rosemary, garlic, thyme, or olives? Does adding any of these affect the rising/baking process? I have never made bread before so I am quite intimidated. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!!!

    Makes no difference.

Just add your herbs to the flour and proceed as you normally would.

Not only is this subject widely discussed in past CH forums, it's thoroughly dissected on the forum at thefreshloaf.com.
Take a peek and do a search of the site:

Welcome to CH, Tina. No Knead Bread is a well-discussed topic here. If you search the title, you'll find 169 threads on this topic. Some of them do discuss additions to the basic recipe.

Since you state that you've never made bread before, might I suggest that you begin with the basic recipe before proceeding to additions. It is quite forgiving and your success will be heartwarming. After that, adding olives or herbs will seem like a no-brainer.
NB: see if you can get some fresh rosemary if you decide to use it. Often, dried rosemary has the texture of an old Christmas tree.

Good luck on your venture. It's too hot where I live to bake bread right now but I'm looking forward to cooler days.
