Courtenay / Comox /"The Valley" or within a few hours drive & not to miss?

Hey everyone! I'm visiting a great friend in "the valley" for 4 days (Sept 27-30) and have a car rented.

I went through all the somewhat recent posts and there isn't much out there- so I'm hoping for help.

I will definitely be trying:
Locals & hopefully Church Street Woodfired Bakery in Comox.

Should I make a trip to Martine's Bistro?

I'd love any suggestions on must eat/ must drink places (Resto's bakeries, vinyards, etc.) in the area or even within a few hours drive as we'll be doing some touring about.
