What restaurant serves the best fried (sauteed) liver and onions in DC?
My favorite for years has been at Monroe's in Alexandria. Check days available, usually Fridays. Nice bacon creamy sauce and sides.
Clyde's has a good, rich version.
The calves' liver and mashed potatoes at Montmartre are the best I've had in DC. For old school diner liver & onions, Deli City. But I'd have a hard time ordering that over the reuben.

heh Graydon, that could have been read with a touch of snark in it. but to be fair they don't advertise, the signage is minimal, the building is nondescript and that block is visually distracting.
Montmartre DC is in the area known as Capitol Hill, and Montmartre is the high hill in Paris.
gotcha, hadn't considered the geographical cross-reference aspect of the (somewhat belabored) pun.
