Mina Out, Wolfgang Puck IN at MGM Grand Detroit

Michael Mina is out at the MGM Grand in Detroit: two Mina restaurants, Saltwater and Bourbon Steak, will shutter now that the San Francisco-based chef's five year contract with the hotel/casino is complete. In his place, Wolfgang Puck will open two restaurants, Wolfgang Puck Pizzeria & Cucina and Wolfgang Puck Steak. Both restaurants will be run by chef Marc Djozlija, who has been with Puck's dining group for over ten years and was on the opening team for Spago Las Vegas

  1. That's funny ... I was at Saltwater Friday night, and Bourbon was closed. The waiter was saying there was a fire in the kitchen the night before and that was why Bourbon was closed.
    I was telling my gf that it sounded weird, and I was betting something was up - either Bourbon was closing for good or maybe the chef got pissed and quit (which made no sense since Saltwater was open).

    I wonder what the timeframe is for the changeover.

    1. I think Spago LV opened more like 20 years ago. Be that as it may, when it first opened I thought Spago LV was a little better than the original.
