Green tomatoes as in unripe red tomatoes, or green tomatoes as in tomate verde, otherwise known as tomatillo?

Aha, that's what I was afraid of. I'll be interested to see if anyone else posts an answer about this. I have no knowledge of any recipe using unripe tomatoes. BUT...that doesn't mean there aren't any. I'd say chances are that any such recipe would be from an inventive home cook.

You could work up something yourself--the first thought that comes to my mind is fried green tomatoes 'kicked up a notch' with powdered chile piquín added to the breading mix. Or green tomato guacamole.
