McDonalds to open vegetarian restaurants...

I got excited about this evenings headline only to find in the body of the article that they will open vegetarian restaurants at two holy sites in India.

Oh, well. Hopefully the beginning on a few trend to put more plant based offerings on their menu.

While not McDonalds, and not vegetarian, I thought this piece in Wired a bit back was kind of interesting. Basically, the former president and COO of McDonalds is doing a startup chain that will try to do healthier, more sustainable food (with brussels sprouts as their cornerstone). And yes, there appear to be vegan and vegetarian options. So in a way, the anti-McDonalds, and yet using some of the same concepts on the business side.

Cool. I had lunch at Dr Andrew Weil's "True Food Kitchen" in San Diego this week. The food was delicious. More healthy choices to come hopefully.
