you're close enough to belltown so you should just go to Shiro's.

drive north to fremont for chiso, east to eastlake for sushi kappo tamura or south to belltown for shiro's.

There is Calva still up on Queen Anne near Bartell's. Haven't eaten there though. Moshi Moshi in Ballard is also good.

We went to Calva last week based on positive Yelp reviews. The service was terrible (sloooow, got my order wrong, 15 minutes to get a glass of water), and the sushi was mediocre at best. We won't be back, though it's three blocks from our house. Sadly there's no "great" sushi in QA, and not really even good sushi.

First mistake, going to a place named "Calva" for sushi...

        There's not much up there.

Try Shiki on Roy. I haven't been in a very long time, but the chef is one of the few in the US licensed to serve fugu, so I figure that is a good sign.

Sadly Ototo is closed. We like the sushi at Chinoise, although a bit more americanized with rolls, and a pan asian menu, it is very fresh and good quality and they are so great with kids.
