Farm stand in Berkley [DTW]

Oakland County hounds, in case you missed this, Berkley is getting its very own farm stand starting tomorrow (Sept 1st)

Stopped by this morning instead of going all the way to Eastern Market. Very impressed. Good selection, really nice-looking produce, fair prices.

Today they had a couple apple varieties, lots of heirloom tomatoes, lots of melons (watermelon & cantaloupe), onions, garlic, summer squash, cabbage & lettuce (few varieties), beans, carrots, beets. Also had some baked goods, honey, farm-fresh eggs, willow branches.

Prices that I recall: apples $4/pint, heirloom tomatoes $5/pint, cabbage $3/head.

They'll be there daily until 31 October.

In some respects, this sounds even more appealing than a typical Farmers Market. Thx for the tip.
