Best pizza and dog for one

Staying on Gold Coast area. Honestly pizza
is not high on my "favorite foods" list but
coming to Chicago I feel that I should try
your claim to fame, the deep dish pizza.
I will be ordering for one so where is the best
place for me to try it? I do love a great hot
dog and can't wait to try a Chicago version. Where's
a recommended place?

  1. Honestly if pizza isn't in your wheelhouse then I would skip it. Chicago has a lot more to offer than pizza and hot dogs. Don't waste your calories on something you won't like. And ordering a deep dish for one is a waste of money. The individual sized pizzas get the ratio all off and a small is usually too much for one person.

    1. I think it's great that you'd like to try our local specialty of deep-dish pizza. I think it's absolutely delicious, and you'll never know until you try it! And they do have a version for one person. In the Gold Coast area, assuming you're around Oak Street or just north of there, Lou Malnati's has a location at State and Rush. If you're further south (closer to Chicago Avenue), Pizano's has a location on State just north of Chicago.

For a Chicago-style hot dog, go to Portillo's on Ontario. You can also try our local specialty of Italian beef sandwiches there.
