Pillsbury Doughboy, now dead?

Foodfuser and his avatar refuse to acknowledge it.

Yet it's right there on Facebook: Dawson Sather.

    1. That can't be true. I just received an e-mail from Pillsbury today and it had this image embedded:

Yep, that was the cheap bounty that they had out on me.

I'd hoped it'd be higher, just by longevity of service, and also fermentation.

        1. re: FoodFuser

Well it should at least inspire some waxing rhapsodic.

        2. I heard it was a severe yeast infection.

          1. Rest in Peace, Doughboy. Too bad you never knew how much you were kneaded.

Thank you, Gio. Actually, the kneading was marvelous. But one thing that got me was those whacks on the countertop to open my cylindrical cardboard can.

Ah well, that's what comes of being know as "Pop N Serve". Folks simply like an urban legend. Here in Chowland you will always be remembered as a smart cookie even though you were a little flaky every now and then. Still, you will remain a roll model for millions for all time.

                1. re: Gio

Alas to the flaky. Better remembered as Bakey.

And as to the puns, let's remember my Buns.

            2. I will accord with Mark Twain,
since I pop from a can.

"The reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated".

              1. No ! I am just getting over the Stay Puft marshmallow man, killed by those Ghostbusters .

                1. And my posts haunt me... lighthearted though they were.

Gio, most of us never hear how much we are 'kneaded'...and then it's too late. Food Fuser was lucky enough to have a clever friend to banter with on this post.
Don't let it haunt you that you made him happy. All any of us can hope to do in this world is to bring some joy into it.

                  2. Yes. We attended both the Mass, and then then the graveside ceremonies. He died young, but not without accomplishments.

Some did not endorse him, but many did step forward, and spout eulogies, in his favor.

                    1. He probably became gluten free and tasted like cardboard. ;-)

                      1. Folks, you need to know that the reason this old thread has been bumped is that the OP, whose avatar was the Doughboy died recently. Sadly, FoodFuser is no longer among us, and there is no humor to be found here any longer.

So sad. He was one of my first followers on CH. I will miss his waxing poetic.

My thoughts and prayers are with FoodFuser.

                              His fussy word
                              No longer heard
                              His final bow
                              a loss to chow
