Yonge and Sheppard Steakhouse? Does it exist?

I am taking a client to lunch on Friday and I am heading out to his office around Yonge and Sheppard as opposed to him coming downtown. I don't know his office area very well. We typically go to Hys or something of that nature downtown. If I recall, there is a Baton Rouge in the area. Any other suggestions for a steak lunch or business lunch?

I would also take other types of recs in the area to consider in the event that I can't find something similar to my usual offering to him.

Thanks in advance

The Duncan House at Don Mills just north of York Mills is a great location for a business lunch. A bit further of a drive but should fit your needs. I've been a few times for business lunches and haven't been dissapointed, good food, good service and it does have it's own parking as well.

Thanks for all of the suggestions - The Duncan House menu online gives off almost a too old school, steakhouse vibe. It's prices are reasonable though, given that you can get a ribsteak for half what it seems to cost at the Miller Tavern.

Seems to be between those two places right now - I'll report back whereever I go.

I've found the tastiest steak - and the best value steak - on the Miller Tavern's menu to be the beef tenderloin at $27. And the smaller size seems just right for lunch - the larger size beef tenderloin is a little much at midday (unless you're a dedicated carnivore). Many menu items in the comfortable upstairs dining room are, in my view, overpriced by about 20 per cent. But not the beef tenderloin. Comes with a baked potato or side salad. Good service - at dinner anyway (I've never been there at lunch).

I work at Yonge & Sheppard and the area isnt great for Hy's type dinig.
        Your options are:
        - Moxie's, just a little north of Yonge & sheppard
        - Miller Tavern, though it might be a little too informal
        - Wildfire. I've never been
        - Oliver & Bonacini at Bayview & Sheppard - reliable quality and business-y

        O&B is my suggestion

Looks like the Keg that used to be in the Sheppard Centre closed down.

South of the 401, the Miller Tavern and Steak Frites are other options for steak, in addition to Wildfire.

If you're willing to drive 10 minutes north of Sheppard, consider the Octagon Steakhouse at 7529 Yonge in Thornhill. http://octagonrestaurant.com/menulist...

There's also a Keg on Leslie between the 401 and York Mills.

All the suggestions above are solid. If I wanted a steak at lunch in the target area - mind, I hardly ever take on a steak at lunch - I'd probably go for the Miller Tavern, with lots of choice besides a half-dozen steaks. It's a 10-minute drive down Yonge St. from Yonge and Sheppard (but with its own parking lot, which seals the deal for me). Wildfire and the Octagon are more like your traditional downtown steak houses. Steak Frites is a French bistro, and a good one. But surely your client knows the joints worth trying around Yonge and Sheppard well enough, and may have a suggestion for a good one that doesn't involve driving in uptown traffic , which is a curse around there at all times. I'd be intrigued to learn what he comes up with, because to me that whole Yonge-Sheppard neighbourhood is a washout for eating out. Not to mention that traffic.

Wildfire Steakhouse is just south of the 401. Much better than Baton Rouge:
