Restaurant suggestions south of Atlanta

Traveling from Kentucky to Florida and want to stop near Atlanta and have a nice dinner, preferally south of Atlanta (to get us a little closer to Florida). Also looking for 3 or 4 star hotel for the night, so would be best to have dinner and hotel kind of close together. We are looking for casual to business casual good food, nothing fancy. We are open to any suggestions. Much thanks!

  1. Not sure you're going to find a 3 or 4 star hotel south of the city. For good grub, I would stop in at Buckner's near Jackson, GA. Just take exit 201, turn right and then at the light take a right onto Bucksnort Rd. It is down a bit but you will not be disappointed. Excellent southern food, served on lazy susans, all you can eat style. Not fine dining by any means but very tasty and it is where we stop on the way to or from Florida.

Further south, past Macon is Yoder's. Amish place. Excellent food.

Thanks! I'll check out this suggestion.

    2. You might want to consider the Inn at Serenbe, and the Farmhouse Restaurant.

Great suggestion but not on the way to Florida unless heading to the panhandle as it is down I-85 instead of I-75. If you're heading to the panhandle, then by all means stay here. Excellent restaurant and the accommodations are probably 5 star instead of 3 or 4 star.

I was actually thinking about a slight destour to Serenbe. After seeing it featured on HGTV I became intrigued. Thanks for sugggesting this!
