Group dinner Ft. Worth

  • 4

I have a group of about 20-30 people coming in town for the Brain Tumor Society Walk in Ft. Worth. I need help finding a good but affordable place to have dinner the night before the walk (Friday night dinner.) The walk is at Trinity Park so I would like dinner to be in the general area.
I am looking for restaurants with either a party room, buffet option for party room like mattito's in uptown, or a order pay and take a number place like five guys burgers...any ideas would be helpful.
We did Joe T's last year and the parking situation was terrible and no one was impressed with any part of the service!
I think American, burgers, BBQ, or Mexican would work best.
Thanks for the help :)

  1. The Mexican Inn on 8th Ave in the medical district has a large room they close at dinner as lunch is their busy time. They have a large parking lot that is also fairly empty at dinner. Service is typically very fast. They make their own fresh masa > tortillas and chips daily. Good salsa, fresh corn tortillas on the table. Arroz con pollo, taco salad (I order half-beef half-beans off menu) are my favorites. Also like nachos, quesadillas, and queso loco (queso fully loaded).

    1. Go to Tim Love's Woodshed Smokehouse in Ft Worth. This place is probably the most popular eating joint in the Metroplex. You can make reservations here: http://www.woodshedsmokehouse.com/MEN... also, check out the menu and video with Tim Love.

BTW - This is just a couple of miles south from Trinity Park.

The Woodshed is more $$ than Joe T's, but with the size of your group, they might would do a buffet type or set price menu if you called them. Personally, I didn't find the food that outstanding, but the location is prime and would be excellently fun for a group.
