Absolutely. You can participate in nominating, and not voting; or participate in voting and not the nomination thread; or you can participate in both or neither!

                  1. Clearly we can stop voting now. ;)

                                    1. meatballs? meh. whatever. you can make them anytime. When I think of September, I think:

                                      EGGPLANT

                                      or

Sorry teleme, voting here is confined to the dishes in the opening post above. The choices were narrowed down to these three dishes in the nomination thread, here:

                                          2. GRATIN
                                            I suck at meatballs.

                                            1. My vote is also for MEATBALLS

                                              1. wiling to give some MEATBALLS (maybe from my Calabria?) a try

                                                  1. Bucking the tide, I am voting for GRATIN.

Tho I am sensing I may have to make a gratin of meatballs....

I am very excited about this month's dish of the month. I don't own the Meatball Shoppe Cookbook (yet) and I am hoping this thread will give me the advice I need to determine if I need to acquire it!

                                                            2. I will not have internet for the next couple of hours. I don't think there is any question about the outcome of this election, unless the axis of the earth shifts in the next 45 minutes.

I'll be back when I have internet, and the reporting thread will be posted by September 1st.

In the meantime, the forecast here is cloudy, with a chance of meatballs.

                                                                1. OK, back online. And it doesn't take a statistician to see that the winning Dish of the Month for September is MEATBALLS!

Stay tuned for the reporting thread...

                                                                  1. Ok... so are there any rules or guidelines for how to do this? I am hoping to do 3 or 4 meatball dishes over the month. I think I will start with some kind of Szechuan meatballs because I have never made them before.

I assume you want more than just a recipe. Maybe a picture or two. How you came to the recipe. Did you modify it? Things like that.

Yes, I think all of those ideas sounds great. There are no official rules or guidelines, but the basic premise is to try out different meatball recipes over the month....some might be from books, others from the internet, others that you make up. Give a report on how the meal was, and take pictures if you can, too! And comments about how you found the recipe, how you modified it, etc. are all great.

Looking forward to reading about your Szechuan meatballs!

                                                                        1. re: blue room
