Inexpensive (But Good) Dinner in Santa Monica/Venice Tonight

Looking for suggestions. Been spending a bit too much of my dining out cash in the $$$ range as of later and want to keep more around $ tonight. I rarely get out to the beach and the weather is so good. Any ideas for exceptional and value priced eats in the area would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It's been a couple of months, but FIG Santa Monica should/may still be running its 50% off entire menu Happy Hour from 5:00-6pm. It's still not as cheap as Joe's slices, but it's farm-to-fork, house-made, yada yada yada yada.

Hey, Joe's is pizza oven to mouth, house-made and if you want fresh "yada" on it I'm sure they would oblige...

The Fig at 5 special (50% off from 5-6pm) is no longer listed on their website, so it maybe over. Call first. Great food even at full price.

Have not been yet but hear great things about the Happy Hour at The Galley on Main St in SM. 1/2 price drinks and food.

Tender Greens is fresh and good - if not great. The tomato soup and their salads are good

Next time check out Larry's on Windward at Venice Beach. Extremely reasonable and delicious food, from the same guys at Waterloo & City.

try a Hatch burger at Umami on 5th Street ( and their wonderful cherry almond pie too).

Some great sausages and fries and beers at Wurstkuche in Venice. Their rattlesnake and rabbit sausage is my favorite, mild and buttery flavor.

2nd Bar Pintxo. Probably too late, but Bar Pinxto has a happy hour deal. Not sure if that works on Saturday though.

If you find yourself walking around near the SM Pier, Pier Burger (south side) has frozen custard that they blend into "concretes," thick shakes w/o milk w/ mix-ins that are rich and delicious. Less than $5 and filling.

Awesome. My other half has a serious weakness for milkshakes. I will take this under serious consideration. Thanks!
