  1. Rice Krispie square at Cheesewerks was amazing! - from a place I otherwise dislike....

    1. Grilled cheese for dinner! I used whole grain bread and extra sharp Tillamook and added caramelized red onions, seared tomato slices, and crunchy cold romaine.

        1. re: Notorious P.I.G.

The sous chef at work made crispy "shake 'n' bake" style chicken and spinach salad for lunch(Thurs/24th) so good I had about 6 pieces :D

        2. Picked up a few items at the new Longos on Laird and I made a salad with fresh black figs, walnuts, sweet cherry tomatoes, Benedictine blue cheese and escarole with a balsamic vinegar and olive oil dressing.

          1. Babel from bakery. A block away. Yummy

            1. Soma's take on English Toffee (dark chocolate version). Ridiculous.

              1. Lunch in Puglia, Italia is at 14.00 hours, or 2pm ... It is only 12 mid-day here.

Shellfish cassola, or boulabaisse with crusty bread, Prosecco DOC sparkling white wine and a simple green rocket ( arugula ) salad with Evoo & Modena.

Our daughters are visiting with the little ones and they shall have hibachi grilled chicken breasts with a BBQ home made salsa and salad.

We are celebrating the birthday of the younger daughter, belated, as her birhday was the 21st.

                Have great wkend, Margaux.

                1. A tree ripened peach from Utah.

                  1. I am having right now a slice of 'Meatza'. Pizza with a meat instead of bread crust. One or 2 laices is all you need, very filling and no wheat to give me a belly ache. I made it with tomatoes from our garden, no other sauce, just herbs and cheese. Yuuuuuummmmmy!!

                    1. A giant 3.5 to 4 pound mango off the tree. Type unknown.

I didb't know here was such a thing as a four-pound mango- but if it existed, I figured it would be in Florida.

                      2. Today I have consumed diet coke, water, a fried fish sandwich, fries, coleslaw, three Troeg's Pepetual IPAs and a shot of rum and ginger ale. The beer was clearly the best. The fish was second. Everything else was quite average.

I had some of the Troeg's Perpertual IPA last night.... tasty indeed!

It's almost wrong how ridiculously delicious Lindt truffles are.

                          2. One very cold, very ripe Brown Turkey fig.

                            1. Half a watermelon from the farmstand, sprinkled with cracked pepper

                              1. Leftover brisket (the coke sauce recipe) with mashed potatoes and mushrooms. I can't stop plopping another spoonful in my little bowl and nuking it.
The dogs are going crazy over the taters and sauce too!

                                1. A big dr kracker spread with homemade mayo and sliced roast pork.

                                  1. Just finished grilling the dogs' supper and had a nice piece.

Marinated Turkey thigh grilled to perfection, crispy skin, moist meat. I sliced some over a summer green salad, as well as nibbled at the bone with a tall glass of Bordeaux

                                    1. A gorgeous tomato from the farm stand, sprinkled with a little salt. The fresh mozzarella I had with wasn’t bad either.

                                      1. A sandwich of smoked tuna, goat cheese, heirloom tomato, red onion and cucumber on seedy mutigrain bread.

                                        1. Crispy duck skin and potatoes roasted in duck fat. Oh, man....

                                          1. Blackened peas served with roasted chicken

                                            1. #2 - Minced fish stuffed into bitter melon,
#1 - Congee with pork back bones, thousand year old duck eggs, dried oysters with chives.

                                              1. Sonoran style flat enchiladas de queso that I made last night, but finished too late to eat, so I had some for breakfast with a fired egg on top. It was wonderful.

                                                1. Baked chicken from the local Amish restaurant.

I love their chicken something fierce and unhealthy.

                                                  1. guava hard candy - tastes like lime and strawberry. Crazy good.

                                                    1. A ripe peach from Wapato, WA.

                                                      1. My own leftovers from last night's dinner - "Spicy Peanut Noodles with Chicken & Vegetables".

                                                        1. The batch of homemade tomato jam I made this morning on top of some 7 year old cheddar. The tomato jam is just to die for - the only thing I can and don't give away. This batch's acidity was lemon and a lot of good balsamic vinegar, plus cinnamon, clove, saffron, black pepper, aleppo pepper, and a couple of shots of Knob Creek bourbon.

Gawd, I adore tomato jam on a really good burger.....to die for is right.

                                                          2. A spoonful of raw chocolate chip cookie dough.

                                                            1. My best meal was a homemade dish: Spinach curry with chickpeas and sauteed carrots, kale, and garlic, over brown rice. An $8 bottle of Zinfandel from Whole Foods also accompanied this fantastic dish.

                                                              1. I'm torn. Friends treated me to dinner at a very nice local reastaurant and I had a perfectly medium filet (and yes, I'm now going to c&p from the web site, my memory a little wine-addled) with Shiitake Reduction Laced with Sake, Green Onions, Sesame Seeds. If the restaurant was not so crowded or if I was in a dark corner I would have licked that sauce off the plate.

But then, while away from the table for a moment, they ordered desserts and chose for me a chocolate peanut butter truffle. I may dream of that tonight--so rich, and yet so light.

This may have been the single (dual) best thing(s) I ate this year.

Most days are much more pedestrian--yesterday it was great hot wings.

                                                                1. Water Buffalo Manti at What on the Table - The Stop's fundraiser (actually last night, but, was too tired to post it!). It was by Beast. A one off thing but I hope a restaurant opens in Toronto serving manti. I had it in Montreal too and really enjoyed it there as well.

                                                                  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manti_(d...

                                                                  1. 2 pieces of frozen chocolate chip cookie dough - I always make extra and freeze in bite size portions.

                                                                    1. So far today (it's mid afternoon) - a crumpet topped with quince jam.

                                                                      1. So far? Potatoes O' Brien, two over-medium huge eggs from the farmer's market, and a homemade currant scone with marmalade and butter.
The Pepsi was pretty good too.....

                                                                        1. a bowl of tapioca pudding for breakfast. Okay, really it was two bowls, but who is counting?

                                                                          1. Fried Chicken Gizzards at Rockie's, just West of Perry, Fl on 98.

                                                                            1. It's a toss-up between the sweet potato pecan casserole I had at the monthly potluck dinner tonight, or the caramel apple crisp with salted honey roasted peanuts chopped up on top that I took to the potluck.

                                                                              1. Well. two things: siew mai and scallop dumpling from Harmony, Mill Valley... wonderful!

                                                                                1. I had a bad food day today. I was busy and my lap band was acting up. The best thing I had today was crackers and Havarti cheese. Otherwise I had boring breakfast sandwich and couldn't keep anything down at dinner except red wine. It's too bad because I made an amazing pasta sauce with crushed tomatoes, basil pesto, cream, garlic, and lots of spices. Tomorrow is a new day though. The pasta is packed away for lunch, so it wasn't wasted.

                                                                                  1. Snack size bag of peanut M & M's

                                                                                    1. Ham, fontina and apple butter empanada. So amazing.

                                                                                      1. Venison fillet for dinner at last night's restaurant. Quickly seared and perfectly rare. Not a great shakes of flavour so it was probably farmed Bambi, rather than wild, but absolutely fine.

                                                                                        1. Tamales.... they were chicken and they were AWESOME!

                                                                                          1. Zucchini flowers stuffed with buffalo mozzarella and anchovies, dipped in batter, and fried -- at home.

                                                                                            1. my own fabulous meatloaf, leftover, so in the form of meatloaf sandwich!
