Does anyone know where I can find some good Jamaican grocers with imported goods? I'm looking for Lasco's Jamaican Scotch Bonnet Sauce and and other Jamaican brands like Grace. Lemongrass and ginger tea, etc.

The Fruits Rocky Montana on Queen Mary near Decarie or the one on Fielding close to Rosedale in NDG might have some stuff, they have a lot of imported goods.

East Indian stores on Victoria between Van-Horne and Jean-Talon. (Just go to Snowdon metro). Breadfruit. Sweet potato. Irish potato. Thyme. Arrow-root.

There are some Grace products at Loblaw's. I have gotten ginger beer, jerk seasoning in the jar and jerk dry spice there recently (the one in St, Laurent and on St. Jacques).

A place with more selection would be Ramdas in Lasalle, on Dollard. They have some interesting stuff. Good luck!

The ethnic aisle at most Super C's have a pretty good Jamaican selection. The one at the corner of Pierrefonds Blvd and des Sources has a particularly strong selection, including Jamaican soft drinks. Marche Victoria a little bit down Sources has a pretty good selection of Jamaican bottled sauces.

Although your version has dramatic flair, I think its "Ramdas"

Ramdas is definitely a good bet. You can also find them here: www.facebook.com/alimentsramdas I think they are the oldest west indian store in Montreal and the province of Quebec and they are run by west indians, so they actually know what they are talking about. Very knowledgeable and helpful.

THANK YOU to everyone who's responded (and who continue to do so!) I called Ramdas and they said something to the effect that a popular supplier's latest shipment of Lasco's scotch bonnet sauce was expired, so most stores refused to buy: and it's now difficult to find any in Montreal. Any other ideas would greatly help!

              Thank you!

I want it too. And you never said when Ramdas said they would have it. So I called Ramdas to go find out when they will have a fresh batch but they said they never had Lasco to begin with. I ask them if they have any supplier snd they said no, but if they did find a supplier, they would order a few since.  I called around in different west Indian shops in montreal but no one seems to have heard of Lasco, let alone know of a supplier. This is why: it's not distributed in Canada. http://www.lascodistributors.com/dist... you sure you talk with Ramdas?
