Sarasota - hard shell Maine lobsters 5.99/pound

At Boothbay Lobster Direct on Hillview, just west of 41. I got 5 chix 1-1/4# each as a special for $30 - real nice and lively. Time to take advantage of the fishery glut!

Update - got 4 perfect lively lobsters and a pound of steamers today - just as great as the last time there.

Thanks for the tip my husband has been clamoring for a lobster roll and the Sweetbay across the street has the rolls. Yea!

Very interesting to hear Juli - their sign out front read 'firm shells - 5.99' and that drew me in; never squeezed them as I was seeking the smaller ones. Just gave the chix the squeeze test and they are certainly not hard shell and not softies either - kind of in between. A summer lobster for sure. Enjoy!

Went today, they could not have been nicer, going to do a lobster boil tomorrow, potatoes, sausage and corn. Yea what an end of summer feast, thanks again cflynn.

I just phoned them - 941-556-9039, she said hard shells are $9.99/ lb, soft shells $5.99. I don't quite know how they can have both in August.
