Best Chinatown Wine Lists?

I'm looking for recommendations for Manhattan Chinatown restaurants with really good or interesting wine lists. I am hoping to take some oenophile friends from outside the country, and I'd love a place that (a) has excellent, interesting food; and (b) has a good gewurtztraminer or other interesting potential pairings available.

If this isn't possible, I'd appreciate suggestions for great food places that would allow me to BYOB. Thanks!

Pretty much every Chinatown place is BYOB. None of them have wine lists that would satisfy an oenophile, though. Pick up a couple good bottles at Astor or wherever, do it that way.

Personally, I wouldn't do wine with most Chinese food - more often than not I find it to be a bit of a gustatory trainwreck - but that's another matter entirely...

      Sparkling wine? A kabinett riesling?

More like: Saison, Pilsner, Belgian Pale...

Also, there's a great list of top Chinatown restaurants here:

Anyone know if any of these have good wine lists, or are BYOB?

Phoenix Garden in midtown East serves good Cantonese. Full byob.

Phoenix Garden used to be fantastic, but I haven't been there in years. Is it still top o' the heap?

Don't know if top o' the heap? But since it's in my neighborhood, and so is PDH midtown, I'm fine with them. We like the food at PG and, admittedly, enjoy their Peking Duck more than at PDH. But since we like to stick to neighborhood joints for Chinese, I really can't be that choosy about where I can schlep along a few bottles to drink with my roast duck and noodles, even if they tend to rush you quite a bit.

I've never been, but Peking Duck House- which has a CT and mid-town location- is BYOB. It's on my short list for a group dinner I am planning in the near future.
