Kid friendly restaurants near the National Zoo?

Taking my 6 year old daughter to visit the Panda's and see the DC sights over the Labor Day weekend. We're staying at a hotel two blocks from the National Zoo and I'd love to get some kid friendly restaurant recommendations for dinner in the neighborhood. She's not a picky eater and loves ethnic food including Mexican, Chinese, Thai, and Italian. Your suggestions will be appreciated.

I remembered previous requests for this same info and found this older thread -- hope it helps!

I would recommend Spices for pan-Asian cuisine. I see kids there all the time.

Also up near Cleveland Park is Dino for delicious rustic Italian cuisine. Plenty of options for kids, including lasagna and meatballs with polenta.

Closer to Woodley Park there is Open City--a diner/coffee shop type place that serves all day breakfast and lots of other stuff. You might also really like Mama Ayesha's for great Lebanese cuisine.

Great suggestion by Elyssa - we love Spices and there's always lots of kids there.
