Jersey City area for dinner
We're headed to Liberty State Park to catch the ferry to the Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island and figure we'd like to grab a good dinner when we get back to NJ. We'll have our 2 kids with us--ages 13 and 10--who are fairly adventurous diners and little foodies but we'd need vegetarian options too. Any good ideas for dinner around that area? We're not tied to Jersey City--anything in that area would be good. Thanks!

MAE is kid friendly, and budget friendly and somewhat adventurous, plus it's close to Liberty State Park http://maerestaurant.com/
Then there's Kraverie, which is the restaurant love child of a crepe truck and a Korean taco truck http://www.kraveriejc.com/ then if the sweet crepes don't call to you, walk over to Torico's for ice cream.

Maritime Parc would certainly be the closest...but I'd head over to the Lighthorse Tavern, it's a less formal and is right in the middle off the Paulus Hook area, the Brooklyn of JC, if you will. If you are a bit more adventurous, check out Modern American Eatery on the far east end of Communipaw Ave...eclectic menu in what is becoming a funky part of town. Funky! Did I say that?
