A book club restaurant

So I know this is a little unusual, but my friends and I are starting a book club, and are looking for a loung-y type of place we could meet once a month. We probably wouldn't order entree's, but get lots of sharable appetizers, and wine is a must! Cocktails are a nice-to-have. Would love to keep it on the cheaper end ($7-11 for a glass of wine).

We have people coming from all over Manhattan, so are flexible on location. Any suggestions?

Don't know if you can stick to your budget for wine, but I would have thought the Library Room in the NoMad Hotel was made for you:

The Algonquin (having the added benefits of a tolerable noise level and historical literary legitimacy.)
