I just went back to Casa Bianca last nite and had the sausage. In retrospect, I find it unimpressive. The crust is tasteless and cardboardey. The sausage is fine. Average.
Maybe my stay on the Westside -- where I enjoyed the wonderful light rustic pleasures of the Stella Rosa pizza -- spoiled me for Casa Bianca.
I will check in on Bollini's in Monterey Park soon to see if that matches up to my memory...
though i havent been in a while, i loved the pies at Olio...Brad is a very serious pizzaiolo/chef...not impressed at all by Casa Bianca...just dont get the attraction...Settebello in Pasadena has me most excited...have to see about consistency but i had a great Margherita w/sausage there a couple weeks ago...
Yeah, I don't see the attraction to Casa Bianca. Never tried Olio - will need to trek down there soon. I love Settebello and have probably been there about 30 times. I can tell you they are very consistent! I usually get the Margherita, but have tried several others that are also stellar. Pilar, my favorite waitress, knows that I love their pizza with roasted potatoes on them so she lets me know. Also, she will give you good, honest recs. She is there during weekdays at lunch.
