Has Anyone Used Viking 30" Freestanding Gas Range?
I am shopping for a 30" gas range for my kitchen remodeling. I saw a Viking D3 series 30" freestanding model that was in the price range of ~$3,000. However, the sale person recommended a pro-style Viking range. Has anyone used Viking 30" freestanding gas range? I've read quite a few reviews of how horrible Viking's quality and service are. Is the freestanding model any different? For the same price range, would you recommend something else?

I've had one for 12 years. One of the best purchases I have ever made. The vast majority of complaints I see on the Internet I seriously doubt as being genuine. There's a lot of crazy marketing today and then there are those that just repeat something they've read on the Internet as factual.
I still have all the original ignitors in mine but if I had to replace them they cost around $12 each and they are no harder to change than a light bulb. Seriously 1 screw and a plug.
There are a lot of folks out there with unrealistic expectations. Before I bought the Viking I was dropping 3k on a range with electronic crud and replacing them every 4 years on average.
I would look at the Viking Pro as they have the Vari-simmer which is awesome.
My 30" range is older but I would just suggest taking some of the overtly negative feed back on the Internet tongue-in-cheek. ;) -
