Suggestions for Where to Eat Good Alligator
In New Orleans for a week. Looking for any great suggestions. Any recommendations that are non-tourist traps would also be appreciated. We have a car so we're willing to drive a bit if it's a great place off the beaten path. Thanks in advance everyone!

Many past threads will give you good places to go in the FQ, Uptown and Warehouse district. There are also a few good threads on places to go around Lafayette and New Iberia.
If you give some more specifics of what you are looking for we can better frame a specific answer. Since N.O. is a restaurant destination town the good restaurants are full of tourists along with the locals.
You will find alligator on the menu in a few places. I never look for it but seem to have seen something alligator at Grand Isle and Borgne. I've only had alligator at home and even though my sauce piquant is pretty good alligator is far down the list when making a meal.
