Low-key sit-out breakfast that's easy to get to from I-90
My family and I will be heading from Logan Airport to western Massachusetts to drop our daughter off at college on Sunday morning, August 26. We're not going to be able to stay in town long enough to do or see much, but we'd love to have a leisurely Sunday breakfast before we hit the highway. We tend to like local joints more than fancy ones -- and we like to sit outside to read the Sunday paper. Do you folks have any recommendations for me that are not too hard for the navigationally-challenged to get to from the Mass. Turnpike? We'll have a car full of stuff, so safe, easy parking would also be a bonus.
Thanks in advance!

The Spot in Watertown though it is always busy on Sunday. It has an excellent breakfast but only a few tiny tables outside. It is up Galen Street when you exist at Watertown, with a left onto Main St. and about a mile or so up Main. A safer bet to get a table would be to take the same Watertown exit, but follow the signs into Brighton, which will lead you to Washington Street. Follow Washington Street all the way and on the corner of Washington and Beacon you'll find Fireplace Grill which does quite a nice Sunday brunch and has lots of outdoor tables and will also take a reservation. And, though I have not eaten there, if you feel more secure being at the airport before you breakfast, I understand the Hilton Airport does a decent brunch.

no, it isn't - from the watertown exit to brookline, a drive I make frequently, it is 10 - 15 minutes unless there's a lot of traffic through to Saint Elizabeths which is unlikely on Sunday. The Spot is closer but you can't make a reservation and they have only 2 or 3 tiny tables outside. If I could think of anything closer that fit the OP's needs I would surely share it. And, as Cookie Lee noted, if maneuvering around an unfamiliar area is not appealing, the best bet is brunch at the airport.

wracking my aging memory for something easier and I remember Devlin's, in Brighton Center, with an outside patio and a nice brunch served from 10 AM on. You could exit the Pike either from the Watertown or the Brighton exit: Brighton exit a tad easier as it is a straight shot up Cambridge Street into Brighton Center, where Devlin is on the left about two blocks from St. Elizabeth's hospital and just before Market Street. They also take reservations. I would guess from the Brighton exit on the Pike it's under 10 minutes and it's straight back up Cambridge Street to get back on the Pike.

Or better, continue along Washington Street to the Newton/Watertown Pike interchange after breakfast.

One possibility is Rox Diner in Newtonville, which is right off of 90. The food won't blow you away, but it's good, and the location is pretty convenient for your trip. If you wanted to prioritize food over convenience, another option is brunch at Sportello in Fort Point Channel (also close to 90). There is a good amount of street parking and a variety of parking lots nearby. No outdoor seating at either place. Flour, around the corner from Sportello, does have some outdoor seating.

First of all, thanks everyone for your great suggestions. A lot of them sound exactly like the sorts of places where I would like to start my Sundays.
I am not familiar with the area, although I have made the drive along the Turnpike before. Other factors to think about:
1) I have maps on my phone that (more or less) got me around Boston last time.
2) I will be traveling with family members that will force me to ask directions should I get lost (as if thhat will ever happen:) )
3) my poor daughter has a rare condition so that having to eat breakfast in a hotel of any sort might just KILL her.
