Have time for only 1 Po boy today! Help quickly please !!

I am on my way back to NOLA to fly home. I want to get one last po boy (Johnny's was ok). Parkway, Crabby Jacks, and Shortstops have all been recommended to me. Where should I go for the BEST? I prefer shrimp/oysters/crawfish/and or roast beef as toppings. CAN'T WAIT!!!

  1. How about a roast beef from R&O? Or fried shrimp at Parkway.....

Overall I'm not a big Parkway fan, but for shrimp it is hard to beat theirs.

i really enjoy the shrimp at Parkway as well. and usually also at Johnny's, tho the last time i was there they were puny and not over-stuffed. was a busy festival friday tho.

      2. Verti Marte, on the corner of Gov. Nichols and Royal) for an All That Jazz: Grilled Ham. Turkey, Shrimp, American and Swiss cheese, grilled mushroom and tomatoes on grilled French Bread
        topped with their WOW sauce.

I think you need to be wearing beer goggles on a drunk night to really love the All That Jazz.

yeah, it was a one-time deal for me. too much.

        2. Not that far from the airport is Kid Creole at 1919 Airline Highway. Have your RB poor boy there. Trust me, you won't be sorry!

          1. P.S. Please be sure to let us know the winner!

Why not go where LSU has gone for 50 years?

              Domilise Sandwich Shop & Bar

The battle for first place ranking always seems to be between Parkway and Domilise's

First of all thanks for all the great suggestions, I found myself half hoping for a cancelled flight so I could try them all! ;)
I ended up with a Surf and Turf from Parkway. This being only my 2nd New Orleans po boy (Johnnys) I can't claim to be an expert, but I cannot imagine a better sandwich. The perfectly fried shrimp somehow manage to stay crispy (I did eat quickly) even though they are covered in a really solid beef gravy. I got mine dressed with a seasonal Abita. Perfect meal, especially for $12.75. Top 3 sandwich ever for me!!!

            2. I know I'm late on this but, Kid Creole on Airline or the one on Metarie Rd. Either one is outstanding.
