Junior's deli coming to Japan

I don't know anything about this chain; does this bode well for those of us who crave good pastrami?

I wouldn't get too excited. The original Junior's in Brooklyn has been going downhill steadily for a couple of decades or more. It's been turned into a chain by the third generation who are doing all they can to monetize the name, but they've been pretty much sailing on the reputation of their cheesecake (which I was never crazy about but many people still adore) for a very long time. Their pastrami, at least compared to many New York delis, is less than mediocre. I can't imagine it would be any better there. Nonetheless, if it's the only game in town it might possibly satisfy a craving.

Agreed, Juniors in NYC is basically a tourist trap. Hope the one is Japan is better!

Gotcha. I had figured that might be the case. The best thing to do is make a trip to Manhattan then, isn't it.

hmm wish they came a bit further west, but still if I am ever in Osaka I'll check it out for sure.
