To mark what would have been Julia Child's 100th Birthday the Smithsonian has reopened her kitchen for two weeks.

      HillJ,

I was there last fall. First stop I made after arriving in DC. Felt oddly at home. Like a room a I had visited many times. (I'm sure I'm not the only one who has had that feeling.) At one point I was the only one there and it was if Julia had just stepped out for a minute and would return momentary.

      You're right it's a terrific exhibit.

That classic (is it turquoise-green) Julia kitchen color struck me hard. Gosh, it had such an effect on me. All those pots & pans. The exhibit is super. So glad you got to take it in.
