Protein powder ?
My son what to buy some protein powder but I read in a health website that it's better to use concentrate whey protein rather than isolate because the isolate is heated and loose its nutrients.
I'm trying to find him some protein without all the flavors and additives added. Does anyone know if we can buy just the protein and he could make his own flavors by mixing it with milk or yogurt and fruits? thanks.

You can buy unflavored protein powder

NOW is a reputable brand.
Isolate is universally considered superior to concentrate, but who knows.

I was googling about that, and found a video of "L'épicerie" talking about diet supplement (whey powder) and at the end, one person suggested just going for powdered skim milk (http://www.carnationmilk.ca/fr/skim-milk-powder.aspx).

re: Maximilien
Seems to be the same for the fancy smancy "recovery drink" - usually a bottled supplement which *supposedly* allows the body (muscle) to better recover after a workout.
Although theres conflicting reports on the efectiveness of this, theres plenty of debate as to what makes a good recovery drink. Some swear by the pre-mixed, brand name stuff, some say as long as its certain percentages of this and that (mostly protein/sugar) like fruit juice and protein powder, some say a glass of chocolate milk does the same thing......

I've only dabbled in protein powder, but from my limited searches, I found non-flavored difficult to find. When you do find it (usually sport nutrition or health food stores as mentioned above), its pretty expensive (2x to 3x other types).
I opted for vanilla from Walmart (I forget the name - I think its this one http://pics2.drugstore.com/prodimg/16...
). Relatively inexpensive and somewhat (to me) more neutral in flavor than chocolate or strawberry (the other two mainstream flavors). -
