Fancy hotel bar crawl for anniversary

I'm contemplating what to do for my anniversary next month. When my wife and I were poor grad students in Boston we used to enjoy going to fancy bars/restaurants for a cocktail and a snack. I think it could be fun to do something similar this year. I'd like for it to me somewhat progressive in terms of food. Snacks somewhere, something more substantial at the next place and dessert and champagne at a third. It definitely does not have to be hotel bars but I like the old school places. Any thoughts? Ideally they will all be a short stroll between each. Thanks in advance

I love hotel bars! I don't know about the food, but two I've stopped in for a drink lately and really enjoyed were St. Regis Hotel and Tabard Inn.

thanks for the ideas. i think we'll start over by the willard or the w and get a drink and a snack and then cab over to bourbon steak for food in the lounge and then stroll to blue duck for dessert. should be fun. and with a soon to be one year old at home it'll be nice to hit a few spots in one night

You're going to get serious points.

I 2nd the W. The rooftop is awesome and has the best view of the city. Call now and book a table as they are hard to come by. The food comes from the downstairs restaurant the J&G which is excellent.

This is a really cool idea! I would start at Bourbon Steak for cocktails and appetizers. Then I would jump in a cab and head to the W. You can dine upstairs on the rooftop or downstairs in the lobby bar. Either way the food and location are great.

Dessert is the real challenge. Blue Duck Tavern would be perfect for dessert but again it's not really walking distance. Perhaps Poste?

Bourbon Steak as an amazing beverage program and the drinks are off the chain. The Willard is also a good spot to try

I love these types of challenges!

I was thinking Bourbon Steak and the Lounge at Citronelle which really aren't too far away from each other, but then I couldn't think for dessert, spare Blue Duck or Marcel's, but that isn't really a very pleasant walk.

Source, Charlie Palmer, Central or Coco Sala would be good, although not old school. Poste and Proof are other good options in that area.

I haven't been to Adour or Plume, but they aren't too far from each other you could throw Equinox into the mix, it's close by.

Citronelle is closed now. Bourbon Steak is my favorite, but of course is in Georgetown. Willard is the quintessential hotel, and the Round Robin bar is wonderful, but I'm not sure about food. Same with Hay Adams and Off the Record.

Maybe drink at Round Robin so you get the hotel part in (and it's so gorgeous in the WIllard), then a stroll to Central for dinner, and then a stroll to Coco Sala for dessert?
