30th Birthday Dinner– Anywhere in NorCal

This Thursday I'll be hitting the dirty thirty. I tend to find myself wanting to go on an epic journey to eat somewhere fantastic, all by my lonesome. London restaurant in New York at 25, a Taco Truck in a city 70 miles away at 28, some place– that served me some<i>thing</i>– when I happened to be in Beijing.

I'm looking for a really interesting place to go anywhere within 5 hours of San Francisco. Preferably not in the bay, but somewhere where I can take an epic drive, have lunch, walk around, and head back home.

So there is: what's the best restaurant in Northern California to best punctuate my thirtieth birthday?

One single place? Go big tasting menu - TFL or Medowwood or Manresa (all right about 1 hour away). In particular, TFL has an expanded tasting menu.
