Best Paris River Dinner Cruise

Hi,

I'm not expecting a Michelin standard but wondering which is the best Paris river cruise experience?

I want to go on one for the river experience but want the one with the best food and wine at the same time.

Thanks,
Dale.

Tourist food in Paris is never going to be good. Food on anything that moves is usually poor. Combine the two in a service aimed at the masses and you are not likely to eat well. Best recomendation for someone who loves food is to select a good cruise (they don't last that long and in France they eat late) and then head to a decent resturant afterwards, there are many within easy reach of the quays. You will have a nice cruise, then reac with good food. Accept no compromises....OK a few glasses of champagne seems like a good option.

I haven't been on it, but a friend of mine raves about Le Calife (www.calife.com)

For Christmas lunch a couple of years ago, we took Bateaux Parisiens. The food is not Michelin quality, but not bad and there is plenty of wine. It was enjoyable for what it was and I would recommend it at the mid-price (three to choose from). I also took the O Chateau Champagne river cruise which was about an hour and at least three glasses of Champagne. Liked the idea, but not the knocking back of all that Champagne in such a short time period. As for a Champagne day tour that includes lunch and Reims Cathedrale, I highly recommend http://www.parischampagnetour.com/ Have fun wherever whatever you do!

I haven't been on one in years because the one I did was so terrible. However, these days O-Chateau is offering Champagne river cruises. I think I'd do one with them. Very knowledgeable and personable folks.

thanks for this tip ChefJune. I've been looking at Seine cruises, and this one looks perfect to me. their Champagne daytrip is a definite possibility as well.
