ICE Lounge on The Danforth

Driving by this morning I noticed they seemed to be tearing down the outside structure and even looked like it was being gutted inside.

Anybody have the scoop on this? Could they be closing.....?

I will resist any further comments :)

  1. I have always been so curious about this place..

I too will resist any further comments

    1. Apparently one could not buy a real drink there...

      1. i went there shortly after it opened around 8 years ago. went on a date.

it felt like a gross porn set or swingers' house. glass mirrors angled down near the ceiling. crappy versions of martinis. i don't think they offered food.

things didn't work out between me and the girl. i blame ICE! :)

I forgot to look this AM. Anybody know what's going on?

          Is it gone (fingers crossed)??

            better question for you:

do you really have optimistic hopes that it will be replaced with anything better?
this is the Danforth we're talking about.

              Anything would be better...

Well its across the road from Libretto, which itself replaced a crappy Greek cafe. So yeah there's always hope.

          2. Going for a walk shortly, will check it out! And yes, me have HIGH HIGH hopes, one never knows! Libretto was a great addition IMO....
ps Millygirl saw the Menchie's sign, going in were that shoe store was, Labiri. :-)

            1. We walked by it on Saturday night around midnight (on the way home from a dinner party on the south side of Danforth we had no practical choice but to walk through the Taste zone.

Ice was literally packed, there is no way they were not exceeding their licensed capacity.

Only time I've ever seen more than 4 people in there (and 4 was a rare crowd)

Could they really make enough on a handful of Saturday nights to sustain the rent for the rest of the year?

Also Trappezzi was packed and had a substantial lineup. I kid you not.
