Separated Eggs = Freezer-Friendly?

Provided extra egg whites/yolks are stored in freezer-safe containers and used within 2-3 mos. (after being brought to room temperature, of course), I assume it is doable to freeze raw, separated eggs until such time as cookies or angel food cake call?

Thank you!

Egg whites freeze well alone. Yolks need to be "sugared" for sweet applications or (apparently) salted for savory. This is what the egg board says. http://www.incredibleegg.org/egg-fact...
For sugared eggs, you need to mix the yolks together without adding air, then stir in sugar. You would then measure them by weight.

Correct. Freeze a yolk as is, and it will permanently solidify. I learned this the hard way when I had too many eggs. I cracked them and bagged them, thinking I'd later thaw and scramble them.

It's perfectly fine in an airtight container. But don't freeze cooked egg white, they do not hold up well in the freezer uncooked is fine.
