Cantina Bell - a possible suggestion for Olive Garden?
Relating to the post about the Olive Garden being in decline, there was a recent article about Taco Bell's "Cantina Bell" line most likely being a reaction to Chipotle. (http://www.slate.com/articles/busines...
)Now whether or not this Cantina Bell is awesome food - it seems like a smart response to Chipotle. Chipotle doesn't sell itself as "real Mexican" - but rather 'a few bucks more for a better Mexican inspired meal than traditional fastfood'. So if Maccaroni Grill and the like are presenting a similar challenge (a few bucks more for a better Italian inspired meal than the Olive Garden), what would be the "Cantina Bell" idea that the Olive Garden could offer?
I think the original post about the Olive Garden declining clearly showed that there are enough people out there that associate the Olive Garden with something positive (even if that's not the food). So as a mental exercise, what would suggest?
