Anything good in Harlem up near 145th?

Hi all,

Thinking of moving up near 145th and Frederick Douglass. Not much jumped out at me when walking around, but wanted to enlist your thoughts/suggestions. I am aware of all the good stuff near 125, but not so much about anything further north. Any hidden (or not so hidden) gems to know about?

Thanks in advance!

I like the food from the People's Choice Kitchen on the west side of FDB between 145 and 146. Don't deliver, nothing fancy, no place to sit, but good Jamaican. There is not much right there though. Charles' is a bit further up, around 152 or so specializing in southern stuff, their chicken is very good. I'm quite a bit to the west and a little north of you so don't exactly get down there too often but there really is not a lot around to be honest. This is one of the times that I'd be very happy to be proved wrong though!

Jacob Restaurant, 143rd & 8th. Soul food by the pound. Cheap and delicious. Love that place. Also, decent Ethiopian, Abyssinia, on 135th across from the police precinct. And the Senegalese restaurant, Keur Sokhna, on 133rd & Adam Clayton Powell.
