Beijing and Shanghai Help!
Hello Hounds,
We are two NYC hounds going to China for 2 weeks. We are spending a chunk of the time in Chengdu and will be taking some food tours and cooking classes but we have no food plans or either Beijing or Shanghai. I have of course searched the board already but I don't see a huge amount of information. (We had a similar experience using Chowhound for Puerto Rico and to a lesser extent Thailand). So, could you guys throw some recs out? Price is not an issue although we are very interested in street food and neighborhoods with fun food cultures. Also, do you guys have any Chinese food blogs you like? I'd like to do lots of reading before our trip in 2 weeks.
Thanks in advance for your help!

If you search on Google Maps for a Xinjiang Restaurant near Beijing, many results will pop up. Go for the most hole-in-the-wall you can find. TIny kabobs are my preference. I think the place I went to was the Xinjiang Muslim Restaurant near the Workers Stadium.
