Brixton Butcher - Which One?! [London]
So, I've just moved, and now that I'm all settled in, I would really like to start cooking again.
I know Greedygirl rates the Colombian guys and the Fish guys next to them for pork and fish respectively - but where to go for lamb/poultry?? - (especially those ok with the fact I will be cooking for one and thus buying portions reflecting that)
I did a quick search of the board but couldn't really find much.
Anyone got any tips - I'm overwhelmed by the sheer choice there is!
Thanks in advance :-)

Welcome to the 'hood - I hope you're enjoying it.
I buy most of my meat at the farmer's market on a Sunday. The Boarstall guy does amazing deals if you have a freezer, or can split the order with a friend. I especially like his chicken and beef. Otherwise, I don't really rate any of the butchers and would actively avoid most of them. The only ones I would use are the Portuguese one on Atlantic Rd, near Mash, and Dombey and Son in Market Row is also OK. Otherwise, I use the butcher in Herne Hill or West Dulwich.
